About Us
Hi, I’m Jenny. I was born and raised in Hong Kong and started designing jewellery when I was in my late teens. It was an exciting place to live with references to all cultures and as Hong Kong acted as a gateway to manufacturing in China you would find streets lined with markets selling everything from gem stones and fabrics to supplies for everything you would need to make clothes, jewellery and handbags. I started my career designing accessories and handbags for a local manufacturer but ‘found myself’ in jewellery making. Working with semi precious stones, I was inspired by Asian materials and techniques and so my Rock Chic Jewellery collection reflects this with its East meets West approach to design.
Maria creates interesting scarves, knitwear and accessories and has developed a range of knitting and crochet kits inspired by beautiful yarns she sources from all over the world. Our Clever so Simple range of knitting and crochet kits include everything you would need to complete a project and are designed for a range of abilities. Maria is inspired by a Clever Yarn that does the hard work for you and uses simple patterns that make knitting and crocheting a pleasure.
In 2014 we moved from Hong Kong to the UK and decided to put our dreams to the test and open a shop selling all the beautiful things we love making. At Silk Road Bazaar we offer our handmade semi-precious stone jewellery, knotted on silk cord which can be worn in a variety of ways to best suit your outfit. We also offer a bespoke service for clients who have a design in mind as well as repairs and remodeling of client's own pieces.
Our Clever so Simple range of knitting and crochet kits are available to buy but you can also buy the scarves hats, gloves and other accessories readymade if you would prefer. Expect also to see our range of fabulous handbags sourced from around the world and from time to time we update our shop with other interesting finds.
